We Did It. Sheila's Catering Co. is Officially in the Record Books.
We’re still pinching ourselves.
On a gloriously sunny September day on the White Rock Pier, our team accomplished something we’ve been dreaming about for a long time — we broke the Guinness World Record for the Longest Charcuterie Platter/Board, stretching an incredible 486 feet of meats, cheeses, jams, breads, and seasonal goodness along Canada’s longest pier.
And we did it with 1,200 of you by our side.
Watching the community show up — literally lining both sides of the pier, plates in hand, laughing and grazing under the summer sun — was something we’ll never forget. This was never just about the record. It was about bringing people together, celebrating this incredible place we call home, and doing something meaningful for the organizations that make White Rock such a special community.
Net proceeds from the event went to Sources Food Banks, Friends of the Pier, and the Semiahmoo Rotary Club — causes that truly hit close to home. Every bite taken that day made a difference.
None of this would have been possible without the extraordinary support of our sponsors and partners. A huge, heartfelt thank you to the City of White Rock for donating the venue, Freybe for the beautiful meats, Save on Foods for the cheeses and accompaniments, Black Press Media for getting the word out, Saltspring Kitchen Co. for those incredible spreads, and the dozens of local businesses and community members who rallied behind this event from day one.
To our volunteers, our incredible team, the Semiahmoo First Nation for their presence at opening ceremonies, and every single guest who came out — thank you. You are why we do what we do.
We’re so proud to carry this record as a team rooted in this community. Here’s to many more moments like this one.
